From worksheet to verified solution in minutes

Upload a question sheet—image or PDF—and get structured questions with step-by-step solutions. Built for STEM: we start with math and extend to physics, chemistry, and more. Our AI pipeline delivers consistent, explainable results you can rely on.

What is STEM Solver?

STEM Solver is an AI-powered pipeline for education and content teams. Upload photos or PDFs of question sheets (math today; physics, chemistry, and more coming). You get:

  • Extracted questions in structured form (LaTeX, multiple choice, labels)
  • Step-by-step solutions for each question, with a final answer
  • Verified results—calculations use a dedicated compute layer so numeric answers are precise and auditable
  • Two modesSolver (see full solutions) or Cognitive Helper (solve yourself with hints and step checking)
  • Similar questions generated on demand for practice or assessment

No need to retype problems; your existing worksheets become the starting point. Export as PDF or editable DOCX.

Features

Built for reliability, transparency, and integration into your workflow.

Upload & extract

Add one or more files: images (JPEG, PNG, WebP) or PDFs of question sheets. Optional job ID prefix when uploading. The app extracts individual questions (and answer choices when present) and shows them in a list. Organize uploads in folders (e.g. Topic/Grade/Month).

Structured extraction

Questions are stored as JSON with LaTeX, optional choices and labels, and metadata. Same structure whether you upload from the Solver page or the Dashboard.

Solver — full step-by-step solutions

Solve All or solve one question at a time. Each question gets a step-by-step solution with a final answer. Expand or collapse sections; use “Minimize all” / “Maximize all.” Similar questions: request “Similar” for one item or “Similar (all)” for the set. Export as PDF or editable DOCX. Open in Dashboard to switch to Cognitive Helper or manage files.

Cognitive Helper — guided practice

Students solve questions themselves with support. Question list on the left; click to open. Step editor: type one step per line (plain text and math via toolbar or math keyboard). Hints: “?” suggests the next step only—not the full answer. Step checking: when moving to the next line, the previous step can be checked; fix errors before continuing. Mark as solved when done. Chat: ask follow-up questions; conversation saved per question. Progress tracking: hints used, steps wrong/corrected, steps on own, questions solved—saved and restored when you return.

Dashboard

Tabs: Uploads, Jobs (Questions), Steps. Browse uploads by folder; for each file: Solve (extract and open in Solver), Cognitive Helper, or Past jobs. Jobs tab: open a set in Solver or Cognitive Helper. Steps tab: view past solution runs. Search by name, sort by name or date. Switch between list and tile view. Optional job ID prefix when opening a file.

Export & download

From Solver results: Download PDF (all step-by-step solutions in one file) or Download DOCX (editable Word-style document). LaTeX is converted to readable text (e.g. 1/3, ×, √) in exports.

Verified solver engine

Every solution is computed via a dedicated compute layer—no “mental math” from the model—so numeric answers are precise and auditable. Configurable for your workflow.

Themes & accessibility

Choose a visual theme (e.g. Paper, Light, Slate, Sepia, Midnight, Ocean, Forest, Sunset) for comfort in different lighting. Responsive layout: question list, step editor, and chat adapt to screen size and scroll when content is long.

Use cases

From classroom materials to item banks and platform integration.

Educators & tutors

Turn existing worksheets or past papers into solved keys with steps. Use Cognitive Helper for in-class or homework practice so students work through steps with hints and validation. Share solutions or similar questions without reworking content by hand.

Publishers & content teams

Scale solution authoring for textbooks and digital products. Keep LaTeX and structure; generate solutions and variants from scans or PDFs.

EdTech platforms

Integrate via API: upload → extract → solve. Use job IDs and stored results to show solutions in your own UI or to power adaptive practice.

Assessment & item banks

Maintain question banks with structured data. Generate similar items and solution keys; export to DOCX or PDF for print or LMS.

Technology

Designed for accuracy, auditability, and deployment.
