Getting started

Pick your role and follow the first-time path for your school.

Roles

Use the Admin | Teacher | Student switch in the header when your account allows it.

AdminSet up grades, people, and the course catalog (import, review, select what to save); sync roster from Management
TeacherStart from a file already in Knowledge Hub Files, review the lesson, publish, review scores
StudentComplete dialogue lessons, open Assignments inbox, use private Study (only you see Study uploads)

First-time admin

  1. Sign in with an admin role.
  2. Prefer Administration → Classes for the shared school roster, then sync into Socratic Dialogue.
  3. Import your course catalog, watch progress while courses are found, then select which courses to save.
  4. Add teachers and students (or sync), then assign courses.
  5. Teachers can then write and publish lesson plans.

First-time teacher

  1. Open Files and upload the class file. Then Make a lesson, Multiple choice, or Fill-in, and Assign to section.
  2. Review levels (dialogue, multiple choice, fill-in) and questions, then save.
  3. Publish for students, then assign the section. Who it’s for only records which level completes the class.
  4. Preview as a student if you like.
  5. Approve or edit suggested scores on the Dashboard before students see them.
  6. On Grades, use Sync from Management roster so sections match Classes.

First-time student

  1. Open the lesson link from your teacher.
  2. Read the lesson (optional Hear lesson).
  3. Type your answers and submit (paste is discouraged).
  4. Scores appear after your teacher approves them.
  5. Open Assignments for Mathwise or Knowledge Hub work linked from your school.
  6. Track progress from your Dashboard and My progress.

Announcements

School notices scheduled in Administration → Announcements appear as a banner across Socratic Dialogue and other Thoughtlane apps when they are active.

Study (self-serve)

Anyone can open Study to upload their own notes and generate a private practice set. Teachers and classmates cannot see Study materials.
